Energy Produced and Purchased
Energy produced and purchased as of the end of this year amounted to
Total energy sales were 198,637 GWh, a 2.8% increase over the previous
year. Of this, 60,476 GWh, or 30.4%, was consumed by lighting customers,
a 2.2% increase over the previous year; 138,161 GWh, or 69.6%, was
consumed by power customers, a 3.0% increase over the previous year.
Load and Line Loss
In 2011, the peak load reached 33,787 MW, a 2.3% increase over the previous year; the average load was 24,320 MW, a 2.7% increase over
the previous year.
■ Line Loss
Over many years of effort, line loss on the Taipower system has dropped gradually. In 2011, the line loss was 4.76%. If adjusted for meter- reading-day, it would be 4.67%, close to the level of 2010’s 4.66%.
